Recommended:
An interest in what new restaurants/nightclubs/bottle stores are opening up around the city bowl and the potential effect they might have on the community. General computer/email admin skills so as to be able to communicate via email, work with Google Drive and a simple form application – e.g., Jotform, as well as to regularly make time to check for updates.
Role:
- To assess liquor licence applications for both onsite and offsite consumption
- The CIBRA liquor licence liaison needs to be confident that these applications and renewals are in the best interests of the community and offer CIBRA members an opportunity to comment. It is vital that there is public participation on these applications.
- As the current process for comment is cumbersome, we encourage you to create the necessary documentation that makes comment easy. You will need to manage the necessary documentation (e.g., via Jotform – training can be provided) so that feedback can be easily communicated to the relevant authorities.
- Once a quarter, we encourage you to attend a liquor forum meeting to get a general update from both liquor licence holders and the authorities (Western Cape Liquor Board, SAPS, Metro, Law Enforcement and CoCT).
- +-1 hour per month + Exco monthly meeting 1.5hrs and a quarterly Liquor Forum Meeting

- Build relationships with members and encourage public participation
